 Care Inspectorate

All childcare services are regulated by the Care Inspectorate who are required to inspect all services at a minimum of every 18 months to 2 years. The previous performance of a centre forms the basis for the next inspection with the poorer performing services requiring more in-depth inspections. They will look at not only the level of care and education offered to the children but also everything from the standard of the equipment and the environment to staffing and recruitment process.

Historical Grades

We are proud to confirm that Elmwood´s grading over the years has been distributed fifty-fifty  as good or very good/excellent. That puts Elmwood in the top one third with the best nurseries according to all evaluations executed by the Care Inspectorate office.

Partnerships and Funding

Partnership funding

Elmwood Nursery School holds East Renfrewshire Partnership Status, the council has an extremely rigorous scrutiny process allowing only a few select private nurseries to hold this status. The main benefit to our parents is the access to government funding of up to 1140 hours each year for 3 & 4 year olds attending Elmwood. Partnership status also gives us access to weekly term time visits from our East Renfrewshire Partnership teacher and support to ensure we maintain high educational standards.

Government Voucher Scheme

Parents can take advantage of the Childcare Voucher Scheme which is a simple and cost-effective way for parents to save money on childcare costs. A childcare voucher scheme can only be used as part of an employee benefit provided by an employer. Employees can choose to apportion up to £243 per month of their salary to childcare vouchers that does not attract tax or National Insurance.
